NTT DOCOMO announces 2009 handset line up

NTT DOCOMO today announced its new handset line up for 2009. Included in the line up are Symbian (MOAP) phones from Fujitsu (F-08A and F-09A) and Sharp (SH-05A, SH-06A, SH-06A NERV and SH-07A). Features include being water proof (low end models) and 10 megapixels cameras, GPS built in digital TV receivers, world roaming (high end models).

Here's a quick summary of the headlines features of each phone. More information is available on the DOCOMO website.

DOCOMO May 2009 Symbian Phone line up

In the new world of the Symbian Foundation, MOAP becomes an optional (operator) package on top of the Symbian Foundation releases.

The Symbian phones, proportionally, make up less of the line up than on previous occasions. Mitsubishi no longer produces phones for the Japanese market, nor are there any phones from Sony Ericsson. In the same announcement there is the first Android phone for DOCMO - a rebranded version of the HTC Magic.

The phones will arrive on the market between now and the middle of July.

Comment: The SH07A even dwarfs the Omnia HD with it's specs in screen & camera.

Comment: The lens on that thing is HUGE! That suggests the sensor of that 10MPX camera is very big as well, making it suitable to take excellent pictures in low-light environments.

Comment: Hello this is the first time, thanks to everyone for future help and advice. I like very much japanese mobile phones especially the handset of 2009 Sharp SH-01A and the last Fujitsu....my question is : can I use these japanese mobile phones in United Kingdom,? I know that many mobiles in Japan are unlockable and you need to have a japanese passport to get a contract....so is there any way to buy a Docomo SH-01A and make it work in London?
Some friends told me that most of the phones don't work in Europe....is it true? I have seen lots of adverts on ebay and other web sites selling Docomo phones ... does not make any sense to me to buy a phone and then they don't work at all because in Europe we have a different tech. System....or they are unlockable due to japanese law. So does any one have a clear view and cristal answers. Many thanks for your help.
Ciao
