Ozone web maxes out on standards compliance and speed
Ozone is now available for S60, at the same beta 0.9 version that appeared for UIQ 3 last year. Ozone is a web browser that "not only delivers advanced features such as client-side database support, application cache, zooming and multiple windows, but also provides the best web-standards compliant experience that's available". The beta download is at www.o3mobi.com. Comments welcome if you've tried Ozone.
(Thanks to SERKOART from Mobile Divide for the heads up)

Comment: :) Just installed O3 - Nokia E90 . It looks like an interesting developing in the browserworld . It is however buggy : couldn't login in the AAS-website . Correct username + password . So went back to MiniOpera to write this comment . I find MiniOpera faster .
By the way shortcuts in O3 :
- Zoom in = 5
- Zoom out = 6
:) Regards jApi NL

Comment: I had it on my P990 and it was great and beautiful (although some times buggy) unfortunately they didn't update the program for UIQ3. now it must work better on the my N82 because of the bigger RAM. and look at the acid 3 test result 94%!

Comment: Works even better than the UIQ version renders the pages fast and flawlessly (tried yahoo,google,AAS,...) and its in alpha version yet!

Comment: :) I installed Ozone on memorycard (E90) . After about 3 minutes use I found to my surprise 44 Images in Gallery ... I didn't make any photo or did any image downoad . They are there because Ozone made them : actually these images are screenshots and some thumbnails and favicon . They are however not located in the folder Images , but in a new folder called E:\shared\O3 . Further use of Ozone would mess up my Gallery I guessed , so I uninstalled O3 .

Comment: had the same issue with the images cropping up in the gallery. installed it on my wife's n82. seemed faster but didn't really like how some pages were rendered.

Comment: I like it on the E71.

Comment: I tried it on my N82. Installed to main memory. it is very fast. as fast as opera mini. I did not get any "extra" images in the gallery. What I missed is the lack of proper "fit text to screen width" as opera mini and even builtin browser do it.

Comment: Seemed quick, but I wonder if that's because the progress bar actually seems to be doing something! The standard N95 browser often looks like it's stalled when I guess it's rendering...
On a more serious note - crashed within 5 minutes of browsing on my first 3 attempts. Not impressed.
Cannot seem to deal with eurosport.yahoo.com, which the standard browser can do - really nice for football fans wanting minute by minute commentary on a game plus team & player stats - something the iPhone cannot display which I thus never fail to load up in the pub without a football screen when there's a game on :)

Comment: Installed fp1/fp2 version 0.9 on E61i memory card, even though it warned not compatible.
Works as others have reported here, including abrupt crashes. Apple's Mobileme site believes it is an iPhone and offers no complaints. On the E61i, you can login to Mobileme, but Ozone crashes while trying to load mail. Also, on this phone, all other browsers appear faster: Bolt, Web, Opera Mini. With Skyfire, lose load speed advantage to constant (re)zooming.
