Uno-esque card game Mau Mau is now free on Symbian S60 1st, 2nd, 3rd and UIQ2
Long-time readers may remember we gave Lonely Cat Games' card game Mau Mau quite a positive review, and for those who don't know it's basically Uno played with normal cards. Well, it now appears that the game is available free of charge from LCG's website for all S60 editions and UIQ2 as well. Just download the file from the download page, then head on over to the free unlock code page and use your phone's IMEI. (UPDATE: Apparently there's the old annoying "expired certificate" problem with this file, but you should be able to get round this by altering your phone's date settings to March 2008 instead of March 2009. You can then alter the dates back to normal after installation.)

I was hoping it wasn't just me...
Nokia: E50, E51, E55, E60, E61, E62, E63, E65, E66, E70, E71, E75, E90, N71, N72, N73, N75, N76, N77, N78, N79, N80, N81, N82, N85, N86, N91, N92, N93, N95, N96, N97, 3250, 5320, 5500, 5630, 5700, 7730, 5800, 6110, 6120, 6124, 6210, 6220, 6290, 6710, 6720
I see 5800 mentioned above, but do not see a S60_5th edition in the zip file.
:-(
Strange that some people can get it to work by fiddling with the date while others can't?

Lookatbowen, the S60 third edition version should work on the 5800, though judging from "unregistered" it may not...
I'll alter the news post to take account of these problems. Apologies for not spotting them.
Cheers Lonely Cat & AAS!!!
Obviously if they were serious about doing games commercially they'd have done a better QVGA version by now, but LCG abandoned game development years ago in favour of serious applications like Profimail and Smartmovie. Mau Mau is more of a relic of their early days. It's a very good relic though, which is why I newsposted it being available free. :-)
