Insight 45 - Symbian Smartphone Show part 1
In All About Symbian Podcast 98 (Insight #45) we are back from last weeks Symbian Smartphone Show at Earl's Court. There some discussion on the feel and size of the show, Symbian Foundation related announcements, and the start of our run through of some of the devices and demos we saw.
In this podcast we cover:
- First impressions of the show? Location, visitor numbers and the buzz.
- Symbian Foundation. Lee Williams nominated as the Executive Director. Governance of the Foundation.
- Goodbye UIQ (more on this in a future show).
- S60 as a platform for Internet Services
- From the show floor, including, but not limited to: Samsung L7110, Ruby, Quickoffice, Symbian demos, Qt on S60, Symbian RAW, ARM Profiler, DevFest, Dashwire, LG KT615 and more.
- A thank you to our listeners (Rafe is lost for words and Ewan impersonates Echo the dog).

Comment: Guys - I will listen to this when I get the chance but, in the meantime, how about posting a short article summarising your main opinions/findings from this event?

Comment: Williamoni - it's on the way (sort of). We're having one of those period where the todo list outstrips the time available.
We're looking to do a fewature article with a couple of paragraphs on each 'thing' we found interesting from the show.
But yes maybe we should also do a short version of this too.

Comment: To do lists can be awfully depressing things. I find it helps to delete the harder tasks just leaving a few simple ones you can easily achieve. Then you feel so much better. :)

Comment: Nice tip :) It just so happens that there's also hardware in for review... The Smartphone Show stuff is (mainly) non time sensitive, but I do want to do several posts / articles on what I think were strategially significant moves / announcements.
Williamoni
Comment: Rafe - I am suitably reassured.
