Reset Generation out now on N-Gage and PC
The long-awaited online multiplayer puzzle/strategy game Reset Generation is now available from the N-Gage application's showroom (use the "Update Now" option if you can't see it). UPDATE: The PC version has also now launched, you can play it through your browser for free on All About N-Gage (Windows only, but it works with both Firefox and IE). The PC version is identical to the N-Gage version, including online multiplayer.
N-Gage is currently available for the Nokia N81, N81 8GB, N82, N95 and N95 8GB. If you want a really, really easy way to install N-Gage onto your phone, click here to see All About N-Gage's step-by-step tutorial.

But at the moment the site just redirects to N-Gage.com's front page.
30 megabytes
Guess I'll just have to wait and make do with the PC version for now, at least I'll get to play it for free in the meantime I suppose.
I know it's little consolation but at least this is one N-Gage game that anyone can play...

I'm trying to embed it in AAN/AAS but running into technical difficulties. If anyone else wants to try embedding it on their own blog or site, the embedding code is under the "embed me" button below the game screen.

Cheers for the heads-up:icon14:
Wow, didn't realise the PC version was literally the full game including online play, looks like my friends back home will be receiving some long overdue emails:)
Yeah, totally full game, totally free, same online game world, AND you can put it on your own website too.
This is why Reset Gen could do wonders for N-Gage's reputation as it could spread like wildfire.

your browser is not supported please use IE6 or later
firefox 2 and safari arent supported
guess its windows pc only?
odd as its java based - should work on macs?
Firefox works absolutely 100% fine, I've been playing it through Firefox 3 and so has Tetlee.
However, Mac isn't supported because the game uses some Windows components.

Yeah, I think it's because it's not quite pure Java, there are bits of Windows that it requires. It could be because of the online multiplayer aspects which are quite unusual for Java games?
Nice to see a 10/10 review already, off to read it now:cool:

(shrug) I'm not a programmer, all I can tell people is what this works on:
Firefox or IE running on Windows 2000, XP or Vista = works
N-Gage on a compatible phone = works
everything else = won't work
Indeed, just played my first online game & it's perfect! Very detailed stats etc.
Think this game is gonna be something huge in no time. Love the fact you can create friends lists(like Xbox Live), if anyone wants to add me feel free, profile same as here - Tetlee:)
There's a friends list system on the N-Gage app too, maybe this is the same system?
The idea of the friends lists on the app is that if they're online you can invite them to an online game you both own. You can also just send IMs if you want.
It seems that way. If you think about it this game would also be absolutely perfect for the Nintendo DS, infact it would probably be the definative version what with the touch screen controls which would be ideal. Of course I don't think Nokia would allow a DS port as although it could be a huge seller, the fact of it being a Nokia exlusive on handheld is a great selling point for NGage.
the reason they allow to add ppl in thje game too is b/c if someone creates a room who you wish to play they have to be in friends list so you can see there room
Interesting point, as we are probably a matter of months away from seeing a touchscreen Nokia S60 phone which may or may not be N-Gage compatible...

Nokia have talked about putting games on Xbox Live Arcade and other home console download services, as that wouldn't be in competition with the phone version, and it would be a way of hardcore gamers to take a second look at N-Gage. No idea when or if this will happen though.
the friends list in the game is same as one in app.

Thanks for the confirmation. That's a good idea to include it in the game, anything which makes it easier to meet players is good.
It could be faster to scroll around the map or select locations with a touch screen interface - I imagine that's one of the reasons why they kept the PC version as a phone-style interface (same size screen, same controls etc), to keep a level playing field.
Good point, hadn't thought of that. You're probably right about keeping the controls the same on all platforms to balance things.
It's not like you need a touchscreen anyway, this is turn-based and the playing areas are quite small.
I just pulled a huge demon out of the Monster Box which killed all three other players, then vanished (alas, it was not against human players).
I like the other fun little things like the ninja occasionally turning in to a chicken with the ninja head for a moment after using his special.
Finally, plumber does seem a bit overpowered, especially if you're yellow so that you get first go on the next round. Wait until you have Ladies Man charged up, pick up princess, cast Ladies Man on a teleporter, teleport home.
